Mariela Koenig is the Research Director for the Aberdeen Group Manufacturing and Product Innovation & Engineering research practices, and is responsible for developing research coverage of the Quality and Operations Management, Manufacturing Intelligence, and Continuous Improvement categories. Before joining Aberdeen, Mariela spent more than two decades as a sales executive and project engineer for National Instruments (NI), a producer of automated test equipment and virtual instrumentation software with applications in data acquisition, instrument control and machine vision. She began her career as an automation engineer at the research institute of Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA). Mariela holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Simon Bolivar University in Caracas, Venezuela.

Curt Peterson, Principal Group Program Manager, Microsoft Corporation
Curt Peterson is a Principal Group Program Manager with Microsoft Corporation in the Server and Tools organization, where he leads the international Azure CAT (Customer Advisory Team) group, SAP platform development group, and the "Onboarding Microsoft to Azure" group. These groups specialize in implementing the most challenging customer Enterprise class middleware, cloud, and distributed applications worldwide using the entire Microsoft application platform. With this customer experience Mr. Peterson drives high-quality product planning for a number of products, such as BizTalk, AppFabric, Entity Framework, StreamInsight, Azure, and other Microsoft middleware components. Prior to joining Microsoft, Mr. Peterson was a Distinguished Engineer with Neudesic, LLC where he was responsible for the creation and growth of one of the largest dedicated BizTalk practices in the Microsoft partner community.
